Suitable Plugins for WordPress Photoblog

Recently I’ve develop photoblog for my new hobby, thanks God wordpress is the superb engine with lots of customize that provide freely.

There’s lot of plugins out there to create photoblog instead of code yourself (well i do). Here’s the great twelve list I’ve made.

1. Yet Another Photoblog

YAP is quite complete to create photoblog, even using the wordpress’s default theme, you can minimize to use custom-field. YAP add a simple (but effective) submit button to add photo. It’s better than WordPress default image uploader.

2. NextGEN gallery

NextGEN is popular. you can customize the gallery with some rounded corner style or drop shaddow style using this plugins. Awesome.

3. cSprites for WordPress

Using cSprites is time saving to load all your images, because cSprites make autonomous one big image, it faster than load picture one by one.

4. Hits PNG Fix for IE6

Still using Internet Explorer 6? Oh you so damn 2002!
We live in 2009, isn’t it? Well I hope you’re not using IE6 anymore, but how about your visitor? The biggest problem in IE6 is can’t render transparency for PNG file. Using this plugin is make it posible.

5. AutoThumb
autoThumb using PHPThumb to generate thumbnail, it simplify your work and your time. well, I’m quite late know that this plugin is exist. But phpThumb is great

6. WP-Scissors
WP-Scissors make possible to cut, crop or resize or even make a watermark your image without wasting time using Photoshop :)

7. ImageShack Offloader
Problem with your hosting cappacity? Upload to free image hosting is the smart way, but sometimes it iritating when upload some images. using this plugin will make upload image done and well

8. WordPress Automatic Image Hotlink Protection
Afraid of image stealing? You can use this plugin.
This plugin also protect your bandwith because image hotlink always eat the source bandwith.

9. Featured Content Gallery

FCG is two thumbs up plugins that make a slide show where ever you put the code, and turn your web in to something that visitor loved. You can adjust which post show on the FCG.

10. SEO Friendly Images
SEO not just on the title or your content, but alson on your images. Make your photoblog famous in search engine using this awesome plugin.

11. PhotoCrank – Social Photo Fun
Enables your users to comment on and around your photos with user generated graphics, word bubbles and captions. Like tag photo in Facebook, but more attractive by using various bubles.

12. Super Image Plugin
SIP handle your watermarking. Protect your picture by using watermark. Simply add your logo to every image.
